Metso presents at MAP Expo and Conference in Düsseldorf

Valve performance in focus at Metso stand at the Managing Aging Plants Conference & Expo in Düsseldorf

Valve performance is a critical factor in ensuring and enhancing the safety, productivity, and profitability of an industrial plant, be it a chemical, petrochemical, refinery or industrial gas facility. Metso experts will present a comprehensive scope of flow control performance solutions suited to the aging plants at the “Managing Aging Plants Conference & Expo” at the Düsseldorf Congress Center, Germany, from May 22-23, 2015, Metso stand S05.

“Valves are key elements in any plant’s flow control and their reliability can be affected by issues such as wearing, stress and shocks. Plant reliability improvement programs should always start with a professional valve performance review,” Jarkko Räty, Service Solutions Manager at Metso, explains.

Intelligent Maintenance and Shutdown services, which the Metso experts will be presenting at the event, meet the needs of the aging plants, helping to improve process safety and performance, and optimize valve maintenance.

Using valve performance review to improve plant reliability
At the Conference & Expo, Jarkko Räty, Service Solutions Manager at Metso, will present a paper on ‘Plant reliability improvements by valve performance review’ on Monday, May 22 at 15:30.

The presentation will review the ways to maximize device performance, such as outlining an easy approach to condition based maintenance, considering excessive valve movements, challenges of small valve openings and consequences of sticky valves. Ways to recognize valves which need to be added to the shutdown list, and how to improve plant reliability with valve performance measures, will be discussed.
