Lucca, Italy- Velan ABV S.p.A. has appointed Paolo Ranieri as its new Managing Director/Chief Executive.
Paolo brings a critical mix of management expertise and technical knowledge to this position. A qualified mechanical engineer, he has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, combined with SixSigma® green belt and executive black belt certification, both obtained at industry leader GE Oil and Gas (Nuovo Pignone).
He spent the majority of his career at GE Oil and Gas, where he held a number of positions of ever-increasing responsibility, including Health and Safety Manager, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager, Product Manager, and finally Chief Engineer of Design and R&D.
Most recently, Paolo was Plant Manager at Ring-O Valves, a division of Cameron that specializes in subsea valves, where he supervised over 300 employees.
