New eccentric rotary plug valve

Fisher Controls International Inc. introduces the BV500, the newest member of the Fisher eplug™ rotary control valve family. The BV500 is designed to complement the CV500 and V500 eplug valves. The BV500 is a lower cost version of this eplug series designed primarily for a wide range of general service applications in the chemical, hydrocarbon, pulp and paper, and power industries. The BV500 utilises the same line-of-sight, high recovery, low friction characteristics as the rest of the eplug family. It features high flow capacity with an inherent flow characteristic that is approximately linear. The aerodynamically contoured plug eliminates flow-induced torque reversals while the camming action of the plug design reduces friction. The centreline of the plug is offset from the valve shaft, causing the plug to follow an eccentric path as it rotates. Thus, the plug has no contact with its seat until within a few degrees of shutoff.
