New options for safety

Morin announces the release of two new options intended to take plant safety to a new level. The Morin Partial Stroke Test Device (PSTD) was developed to allow the users to test emergency shutdown valves without disrupting the process. The PSTD unit is locked out when the unit is in service and the valve functions normally. When the unit needs to be tested, the operator unlocks the device and inserts the stop pin, allowing for 15 degrees of valve travel to sufficiently test the valve package. The Morin PSTD ensures a hard stop and no over travel, time after time, without any special calibration. The second option, the lockout feature, allows operators to mechanically lock out the actuator in a safe position while work is being done on the process. Since their inception, Morin pneumatic actuators have gained a reputation for being one of the most rugged actuators on the market. The Morin line was developed in all stainless steel in the beginning, allowing Morin to win over customers by taking on their toughest problems. Even the economical yet robust B Series follows the tradition of using stainless steel cylinders with a Ductile Iron body, thus eliminating cylinder corrosion that kills most actuators. With standard features like stainless steel cylinders, yokes, and bearings on every moving part, Morin actuators have an extremely long life cycle, making them an excellent long-term investment for plant operators.
