O-rings in over 100 general and high-performance elastomers are now precision-moulded by James Walker at its Cockermouth plant in Cumbria. Material grades range from medium nitrile, ethylene-propylene and silicones to explosive-decompression (ED) resistant fluorocarbons and hydrogenated nitriles. “With over 7 million O-rings in stock at our automated warehouse, ready for same-day despatch, we can meet the vast majority of industry’s immediate needs,” reported commercial director Geoff Teasdale. The company has a vast library of over 8000 moulding tools that covers O-rings to national and international standards including BS1806 and SAE AS 568A, BS4518, ISO3601 and DIN3771-1, JIS B2410, as well as the JW 17000 range that it originally developed for the Royal Navy. It will also precision-mould custom designs.
