Philippines hydro power plant

The Philippines’ Negros Island, comprising Occidental and Oriental Negros, will develop its own 54.5 megawatt hydro-electric power plant in the next five years. Negros Occidental Gov. and Negros Oriental Gov. representatives will meet with representatives and executives of Pacific Synergy International and Capital Genesis Research Corporation, both American multi-national companies and China National Water Resources and Hydro Power Engineering Corporation, to discuss the final details for the construction of hydro-electric plants in both provinces. Already identified to be potential hydro power plants are located in Carol-an in Kabankalan, Negros Occidental (8.5 megawatt capacity); Pacuan-Guinobaan in La Libertad-Guihulngan, Negros Oriental, (33 megawatt capacity); and Cauitan-siaton in Sta. Catalina and Siaton, Negros Oriental, with a 13 megawatt capacity. The projects will be funded by the US companies such as Pacific Synergy International and Capital Genesis Research Corporation. While the China-based company China National Water Resources and Hydro Power Engineering Corporation will be in charge of the materials or the equipment for the hydro-electric plants.
