The Swagelok DR series radial diaphragm valve is now available with a polyethersulfone (PES) manual actuator. The actuator complies with FDA material requirements and offers excellent resistance to caustic wash-down. The low thermal conductivity of the plastic handle provides insulation from temperature extremes in the process line and permits comfortable operation in steam applications. Available for use with 1/2, 3/4 and 1” stainless steel Swagelok DR radial diaphragm valves, the actuator opens fully in one turn and provides visual indication of open position. It also provides positive shutoff with minimal torque; no travel stop is required. The radial diaphragm valves minimise entrapment areas, drain easily, and maximise cleanability. In addition, the live-loaded body seal controls cold flow of the PTFE diaphragm and maintains the shell seal during cycling.
