Saint-Gobain access cover solution for Anglian Water

Saint-Gobain PAM UK has signed an agreement with Anglian Water for the supply of its ductile iron access cover solutions pressure release valve (PRV) chamber installations for carriageway and verge applications.

Working alongside various stakeholder groups within Anglian Water, Saint-Gobain PAM UK put forward designs that would overcome concerns regarding important issues such as durability, health and safety of operatives and security. The Opt-Emax D400 hinged access cover range for the carriageway and the Rapide B125 slide-out cover for verge locations are the chosen solutions. This is due to the features and benefits of the products, matching with the overall technical requirements of the customer and creating value.

In addition, an integrated supply chain group was formed to develop ‘best practice installation guidance’, including MCL, who offer a range of composite chamber solutions, and Instarmac, who manufacture installation and reinstatement materials. The result of this collaboration was the creation of a best practice DVD, which will be posted on to the Anglian Water intranet to be used for training purposes for operatives. Scott Lewis, supply chain professional at Anglian Water said: “As part of this value creation initiative, based on the 200 units per annum required, we are looking at potential savings against the previous defective option of circa GBP 14,000 a year.”
