The Severn Glocon Group plc, a UK-based manufacturer and service provider for severe service control valves in the oil, gas, petrochemical, power generation and associated industries, has announced the acquisition of Design Paradigm Ltd, a specialist engineering design and analysis consultancy with a strong valve industry pedigree. Design Paradigm’s highly qualified engineers with over seventy years combined experience within the fluid handling industries have accumulated a vast knowledge of valve, process and ancillary equipment, combined with a successful track record of project implementation in the industry sectors served by Severn Glocon Group companies. Skills range from simple evaluations of existing components to the design and analysis of complete systems. Work is performed using a combination of advanced analysis tools including Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics, together with bespoke engineering software and proprietary Solid Edge and Solid Works CAD, analysis and visualisation packages. These skills will focus on process flow design and management activities, providing technical support and software development to serve performance analysis and improvement projects, criticality studies and the implementation of quality systems to meet ever more stringent demands from international regulatory bodies, environmental legislation and the drive for increased efficiency and reliability.
