Severn realigns Aberdeen valve business

Valve specialist Severn Glocon Group is recalibrating the Aberdeen functions of Severn Unival and Severn Ball Valves to further focus its expertise and enhance its offering.
Going forward, Severn Unival’s North Sea operations will deal solely with severe service control valve applications. The business offering includes advanced technical advisory services, as well as control valve service, repair and manufacture.

Aberdeen-headquartered Severn Ball Valves will extend and diversify its portfolio beyond its established trade in isolation valves. Repair and maintenance of mechanical and safety valves, previously handled by Severn Unival, will now be carried out at the Portlethen facilities.
Severn Unival, which has operated in the North Sea market since 1982, has a solid reputation for intelligence-led control valve engineering. The latest development will see its technical capabilities concentrated on control valves exclusively. This will bring tangible benefits for North Sea operators seeking to boost platform efficiencies.

Managing Director Colin Findlay explains “The combined technical challenges associated with maximising production on ageing platforms and meeting KP4 requirements are huge. Overcoming these complex issues requires a dedicated approach from the very best engineering minds in the industry. Severn Unival can now focus on what it does best – generating breakthrough ideas for better control valve performance.”

In line with the announced realignment, Severn Ball Valves has appointed Sandy Moultrie as Workshop Manager. With 18 years’ experience in supervisory roles, Sandy will be responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of workshop and stores activities.
