Siemens Energy has been awarded contracts from Thailand for a total of 16 SGT-800 industrial gas turbines for combined cycle cogeneration plants (CCCP) under Thailand´s Small Power Producer (SPP) program. One end customer, Gulf JP, will receive 14 gas turbines for seven projects via EPC contractor Toyo Engineering Corp of Tokyo, Japan. Yokohama-based Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corp, is the purchaser of two SGT-800 machines as EPC for the end user Amata B. Grimm Power 3 Ltd. Long-term service agreements were also signed for the projects. The power plant projects are part of the Thai government’s Small Power Producer program which requires the plants to export at least five percent of their thermal energy in the form of steam or hot water to industrial users in the area to improve the plants’ overall efficiency.
