The Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. (CABGOC) has awarded Technip a services contract for the development of the Benguela-Belize-Tombocco oilfields, offshore Angola. CABGOC is the affiliate of Chevron in Angola and the operator of Blocks 0 and 14. The Benguela-Belize-Tombocco fields are located in Block 14, offshore Angola, at water depths ranging from 1100 to 1400 ft for Benguela-Belize and 1700 ft for Tombocco. The Benguela-Belize fields will be developed with a 42-slot drilling and production facility. Tombocco’s remote production centre will likely be tied to the Benguela-Belize drilling and production centre. The project will be performed by the engineering centre of Technip in Houston, USA, with the participation of two subcontractors: Intec for subsea studies and ODA for drilling studies. Phase 1, to last 17 weeks, will cover the definition engineering and optimisation phase. Phase 2, to be completed 38 weeks after the date of order, will cover the preliminary engineering phase, including preparation of the EPC bid packages. This contract constitutes a major reference for Technip in Angola and in the deep offshore sector.
