The third Technivent, organized by well-known distributor ERIKS, was held in late November 2011 in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands, around the theme of sustainable innovations.
Some 2,000 visitors came along to the two-day show see the wide range of products that are available through ERIKS and Econosto.
Interestingly, ERIKS had also invited many of the supply companies it represents to take stands at the show, which certainly gave it an international flavour, with plenty of depth in the products on offer.
In short, this was an ideal place to find technology and skills in seals and plastics, flow technology, drive technology, tools and maintenance and supply chain integration.
Many of the pavilions featured live demonstrations, so the visitors could see for themselves how equipment such as processing machines, robots, filters and 3D printers really worked.
The show also drew many of the engineers of tomorrow, with three local polytechnics sending students.
Throughout the show expert speakers shed light on various aspects of sustainable development for the current and future Dutch industry.

There are some considerable advantages to be had from locating pilot valves on so-called pneumatic valve islands, explained Gert Janssens (Outside Sales Engineer with Asco Numatics Benelux).
One of the many international suppliers who exhibited at the show was BAC Valves. Commercial Manager Josep Sánchez discussed where the project business was growing – and how BAC is developing new products to support that growth.
Marvin Sommer (Area Sales Manager at Schünemann) gave this online editor a quick physics lesson and explained how the Bernoulli principle can be used to good effect for cleaning filters.
At the Econosto booth, Product Group Manager Mr Kanaar kindly answered questions about how the company is helping valve users achieve sustainability and energy savings
