Tyco wins order for Rotterdam plant

A contract worth EUR 1 million has been awarded by ABB Lummus Global BV to Anderson Greenwood Crosby, a division of Tyco Valves and Controls, for the supply of Spring Loaded Safety Valves and associated products to one of the world’s most advanced Propylene Oxide (PO) / Styrene Monomer (SM) facilities, currently under construction near Rotterdam. The facility at Maasvlakte is known as PO-11, and is a joint venture between the Lyondell Chemical Company and Bayer AG.
The order consists of over 500 safety valves, bursting disc assemblies and tank vent valves, and extends from initial engineering to pre-commissioning testing. Specific thermal relief valves of the LT Omni design – fully compliant with Stoomwezen rules – account for 130 of the valves required. Two-thirds of the full nozzle valves are balanced bellows design, and the rest are conventional valves. Special block body valves with fully rated 600# inlet x 600# outlet have also been supplied for applications subjected to very high outlet pressures, over and above those listed in API 526.
