China Valves Technology Inc. has announced that it has delivered USD 1.4 million worth of specialized valves to the Shanghai Qingcaosha water resources project, the largest water supply project in Asia that will soon provide top grade drinking water to more than 18 million people in the greater Shanghai area. In addition to manual butterfly valves, the Company provided the largest diameter valves used in the Qingcaosha project: the DN5500 D341x-6 valve that has a diameter of 5.5m, which is not only the largest valve used in the project, but also the largest valve ever produced in China. The valves are used for the water supply tunnels in the project. The Company delivered all valves in February and expects to receive more orders in the future. When completed, Shanghai Qingcaosha will bring more than seven million tons of top grade potable water from the Yangtze River to Shanghai daily, replacing lower grade water currently obtained from the Huangpu River. The project includes a 500 million ton reservoir that can supply Shanghai for nearly 70 days.
