Water valves for Mexico

American Valve & Hydrant Manufacturing Co. has invented a new rubber-seated valve to be used in Tijuana, Mexico, to prevent water leakages. The constant dripping of water can have dire consequences for water wastage in poor, drought-parched regions. Valves that control water flow in the pipes generally have metal parts that turn on other metal parts. A grain of sand can cause a leak. If it happens, for each inch of diameter of the valve, an ounce of water per hour could leak. On a 48-inch valve, that translates into almost a half-gallon of water per hour.
