Longreach prepares for drilling at Kamar-1

Longreach Oil and Gas is about to drill into the targeted Lower Liassic formation, the first prospective zone, with the company’s second Moroccan exploration well – Kamar-1 – on the Sidi Moktar onshore licence.

Saipem wins FPSO contracts in Angola

Saipem has been awarded two contracts in Angola by Total, worth a combined value of more than USD 4B. The main contract, worth more than USD 3B, is for the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPCI ) of two converted turret-moored FPSO units for the Kaombo Field Development Project, located in Block 32, offshore Angola.

Jacobs-HDR JV receives NAVFAC Atlantic contract

Jacobs Engineering Group’s joint venture with HDR received a single-award contract from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic to provide architecture and engineering services at various locations worldwide.

Shell discovers deep-water gas offshore Malaysia

Shell announced an exploration discovery offshore Malaysia. The successful ‘Rosmari-1’ well is located 135km offshore in Block SK318, and drilled to a total depth of 2,123m. The well encountered more than 450m of gas column.

SEMI-GAS expands GigaGuard GSM capabilities

SEMI-GAS Systems, a provider of ultra-high purity gas delivery equipment, expanded the capabilities of its GigaGuard GSM controller to include PLC operation of 6, 7 and 8 stick gas distribution systems.

Lamprell to build drilling platforms for Ensco

Lamprell, a provider of diversified engineering and contracting services to the onshore and offshore oil & gas and renewable energy industries, received a new contract award from Ensco Intercontinental, a subsidiary of Ensco, for the construction and delivery of two high-specification, LeTourneau-designed, self-elevating mobile offshore drilling platforms of a super 116E (Enhanced) class.

New bulk storage tank relief valve from Emerson

Emerson Process Management released the new Fisher Type 63EGLP Bulk Storage Tank Relief Valve, typically used on 30,000 gallon and larger propane tank applications. The Type 63EGLP offers multiple benefits over traditional multiport relief valves, including a 40% increase in relief capacity, a 20% weight reduction for easier installation, and reduced maintenance costs.

Bureau Veritas certifies valve testing system

Bureau Veritas, the independent Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) bodies certified the Uni-Test Safety & Relief Valve Testing System from Unique Wellube FZC, a Unique Maritime Group company that provides integrated turnkey subsea and offshore solution providers.

Metso gets follow-up order for valve technology

Metso won a second major order for advanced valve technology from Sino-Venezuela Guangdong Petrochemical Company for its 20 million ton-per-year heavy crude oil processing project in China. The new delivery includes large Neles valves for the delayed coking process, which is one of the demanding sub-processes in oil refining.
