Our editors gather news and press releases from around the world to bring our community the latest developments in the valve and actuation industry. Here you can find news involving the people and companies involved in the design, manufacturing, supply, maintenance and use of industrial valves and actuators. We focus both on engineered products as off the shelf products.

Saipem has won new engineering and construction offshore contracts in Indonesia and in the Republic of Congo, worth approximately USD 520M in all.
In Indonesia, Eni has awarded an EPCI contract for a new built barge Floating Production Unit (FPU) for the Jangkrik Complex Project development to a consortium led by Saipem.
Lamprell, a provider of diversified engineering and contracting services to the onshore and offshore energy industry, completed the construction of the jackup drilling rig, ‘Qarnin’ and its delivery to Abu Dhabi’s National Drilling Company (NDC).
Technip was awarded a contract by Kazanorgsintez to provide technology and services for a grassroots furnace at Kazan in Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. The project consists of the engineering and procurement of an SMK double-cell cracking furnace.
Kelso Technologies has filed a patent application for a new externally mounted dual-rating pressure relief valve (DPRV) design for use on new rail tank cars and retrofits of existing rail tank cars.
Kelso has initiated a proactive design strategy and, as a result, created a new DPRV design based on mechanical engineering innovations that provide safety benefits in both accident and non-accident environments.
The engineering and services group Bilfinger has again extended an important agreement for the maintenance of oil and gas production facilities in the North Sea. In the coming two years, the company will deliver extensive corrosion protection, insulation and scaffolding works for BP at the Ula, Valhall and Skarv fields.

Well over a hundred valve professionals came along, and were treated to a very informative event.
The programme included four ‘blocks’, ranging from the traditional presentations (installed base tool, wireless HART, and how to capture and use data), to a walk through the workshop (with stop-off points along the way to discuss safety, smart tools during repairs, diagnostics and quick deliveries), to a round-table discussion on shutdowns to a knowledge sharing session.
All these components were very interactive, and delegates were quick to share thoughts and ideas with the presenters and also with their peers from other companies.
Indeed, Valve World’s very informal survey showed that this element – being able to interact with colleagues, and learn from each other’s experiences – was seen as exceptionally valuable by the delegates.
Further helping to encourage dialogue between delegates were the well-catered coffee and lunch breaks, for which Fabricom had cleared out its entire overhead storage area.
The day concluded with a humorous yet passionate presentation by well-known Belgian politician Marc van Peel, who discussed the past, present and future of the Harbour at Antwerp.
Victaulic, the manufacturer of mechanical pipe-joining systems, introduces the Series 725 Diverter Valve, the industry’s first grooved-end valve designed specifically for paste backfill lines. The valve improves the efficiency of backfill operations while providing durable, reliable service.
Energy production technology services company Proserv further bolstered its subsea manufacturing capabilities and specialist integrated services with the acquisition of engineering player KRG Industries.
Nordson ASYMTEK, a Nordson company, introduces the Quantum Q-6800 high-performance, large-format dispensing system for SMT, PCB packaging, and microelectronics assembly applications.
Quantum’s dispense area of 423 x 458 mm handles a wide range of substrate sizes and is large enough so the dispense area isn’t compromised even with dual valve configurations, enabling flexibility in the dispensing process.
Wison Offshore & Marine secured a contract to build a barge-based floating LNG regasification unit for a 50/50 joint venture between Exmar NV and Pacific Midstream Holding Corp., a fully owned affiliate of Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp.
