Metso valves for Ngodwanafiberline expansion

The long-term relationship between Sappi Ngodwana and Metso is strengthened by a new contract for automated valves and services to increase the mill's efficiency.
Metso will deliver all the automated process valves required for Sappi's fiberline expansion in the Ngodwana mill in South Africa. In this project, called Go-Cell, the existing fiberline is being expanded to produce chemical (specialised) cellulose, also known as dissolving pulp. In total, over 700 automated valves will be delivered during the final quarter of 2012, and the mill start-up is scheduled for early 2013.

T.D Williamson enhances training efforts

T.D. Williamson (TDW) announced that the second class of new engineering recruits has been inducted into the company’s Engineering Development Program (EDP). The program offers a broad range of training and development opportunities for new employees hired to work in engineering roles.

Doedijns acquires Logan Industries

Through a U.S. subsidiary and supported by its shareholder IK Investment Partners, Doedijns International has acquired the assets of Houston, Texas-based integrated engineering and manufacturing company Logan International Corp.

Hitachi’s “100 year commitment” to UK

Japanese company Hitachi has signed an almost GBP 700 million deal giving it rights to build a new generation of power plants in the United Kingdom. Hitachi will buy Horizon Nuclear Power, which was intending to build reactors on existing sites at Wylfa, Anglesey, and Oldbury, near Bristol.

High-performance, composite sealing specialist, Repack-S has announced OSIS, an innovative polyurethane (PU) rubber On-Site Injection System, to join spliced seals in large hydropower valve equipment.
