GEMÜ China celebrated its 10th anniversary under the slogan “Growing together” together with the German and Swiss management as well as the persons responsible from the German sales team. From 31 October to 2 November, the Shanghai subsidiary of the Ingelfingen specialist for valve, measurement and control systems presented the accomplished as well as the targets for the next ten years. GEMÜ China was established in 1998 solely as a representative office. It all started in the German centre in Shanghai. Two employees started in a small office with sized 10sqm. The “couple” of the first hour: Managing director Zhen Xiao, an engineer who had graduated at the Technical University of Stuttgart and his female colleague Xuesong Wu, who had just completed her German language and literature studies. The first product of the Chinese production was the GEMÜ 514 angle seat globe valve. This was assembled from German components in China and sold on the Chinese market. Today the enterprise employs more than 80 co-workers at six locations and maintains its own manufacturing plant for the local market. Some products are also supplied to other Asian countries.
