News

Our editors gather news and press releases from around the world to bring our community the latest developments in the valve and actuation industry. Here you can find news involving the people and companies involved in the design, manufacturing, supply, maintenance and use of industrial valves and actuators. We focus both on engineered products as off the shelf products.

Balanced spring mass linear actuator

newsitemH2W introduces its most compact balanced spring mass actuator. The voice coil actuator (NCM02-05-005-4JBL) can be operated open loop and is ideal for controlled sinusoidal motion applications (1 to 1000 Hz for open loop applications and 1 to 125 Hz for closed loop applications).

Actuation contract includes leviathan valves

Situated on the coast at Chixi Town, south of Guangzhou in China’s Guangdong Province, the Taishan Nuclear Power Station is expected to be one of the largest in the world.

AMOT’s new slim-line butterfly valves

newsitemThe new PVA slim-line air-operated butterfly valves with integral cast hose connection ends from Chalwyn are ideal for fitting into the short hoses between the intercooler and manifold of modern trucks including Scania, MAN and Mercedes Benz. High temperature seals on both the main disc and pneumatic actuator make these valves suitable for installations where the compressed air post turbo- charger can reach up to 120°C. The new valves are initially available in three sizes: 2.8”, 3.5” and 5.5”.

Rotork introduces GO Range

Re-designed to provide longer and more efficient service in the harshest of environments with the minimum of maintenance, the new generation of Rotork GO actuators has undergone an important upgrade, including streamlined manufacturing and product improvements.

Tyco introduces new pilot operated pressure relief

Tyco Flow Control announced the launch of its newest pilot operated pressure relief valve, the Anderson Greenwood 5200.

New ball and needle valve solutions from Bifold

The new compact design range of ball and needle valve products from Bifold have been developed for low/medium pressure applications with an operating range from 1,000 psi up to 10,000 psi and constructed from UNS S31600/S31603 stainless steel (alternative materials available), in compliance with NACE MR-01-75 as standard and with ¼” NPT up to 2” NPT within the range.

Another source to meet massive workforce demand

newsitemNews that Aberdeen - known as the oil & gas capital of Europe - is in threat of losing its world-wide status if it does not increase its oil and gas workforce means oil companies must look beyond oil and gas engineers to recruit. A report by accountancy firm PwC suggests a shortage of skilled workers could threaten Aberdeen's aim to position itself as a global energy hub and that 120,000 new recruits are required to replace its depleting workforce – almost 50% of whom are over 45 years old.
